Australian women suffer random sexual assaults at an alarming rate and because of this they often feel unsafe when alone. Statistics show that 93 per cent of Australian women have changed their behaviour to ensure safety, 61 per cent avoid walking home at night, and 45 cent avoid exercising after dark. Instead of accepting this fear, we challenged it by creating a personal security Apple Watch and iPhone app ‘Fearless’ that is designed specifically to empower women.
Acting like an invisible security guard the app is simply activated with a double tap which sends an instant distress signal along with GPS locations via SMS to an emergency contact. This contact is prompted to immediately call back or seek third-party help.
